ZAMBOANGA CITY — Police arrested two suspected big-time drug pushers and seized PHP800,000 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in this city, an official said Wednesday.
Supt. Edilberto Alvarez, Police Station 11 officer-in-charge, identified the arrested suspects as Ismael Hanapiya Jikiri, 37, and Omar Milan Jikiri, 22, both residents of Lungan-Gitung, Parang, Sulu.
Alvarez said the Jikiris were arrested by the Drugs Enforcement Unit in an anti-drug operation around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in Caburihan Drive, Barangay Canelar, this city.
The buy-bust was conducted following days of surveillance of the suspects’ illegal activities, he said.
The suspects yielded suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as shabu packed in three large and one small-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets.
Alvarez said charges are being readied for filing against the suspects, who are detained at the headquarters of Police Station 11. Teofilo Garcia, Jr/PNA-northboundasia.com
