2 MORE MEN ARRESTED FOR GUN BAN VIOLATION IN PANGASINAN

URDANETA CITY — Pangasinan police on Friday arrested two more persons for gun ban violation, bringing to five the number of persons already arrested by the Pangasinan police since the ban went into effect last Jan. 10.

The latest two suspects from Urdaneta City and San Fabian yielded hand grenade, a hand gun and bladed weapon. The three earlier suspects were from Basista and Dagupan City.

The latest two suspects were arrested in separate operations by policemen in Urdaneta and San Fabian.

First to be arrested on or about 1:00 a.m. that day in a buy-bust operation at Calle Garcia in front of tne Public Cemetery in Poblacion. Urdaneta City was a suspected drug dealer identified as Allan Mayandoc, 43, of Zone 5, Nancamaliran East in Urdaneta from whom a hand grenade and a Cal. 38 Armscor revolver and several sachets of shabu were seized by lawmen.

Also arrested on Jan. 15 at about 10:30 p.m. was Danmar Jovellanos, 24, from whom a 27-inch samurai sword was seized by the police manning a Comelec checkpoint along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, San Fabian.

He was aboard a motorcycle when flagged down by PO2 Ernest Karl G. Rufino III and PO1 Daryl R. Estayo but instead of obliging, he maneuvered his motorcycle and made a u-turn

Policemen caught him up and when asked to present his driver’s license, he allegedly simply threw a small book from where a sachet of dried marijuana leaves and tooter fell.

Appropriate charges are now being prepared by the police against the arrested suspect. PNA / northboundasia.com
