2 LA UNION TOWNS AND CITY TO HAVE NO ELECTRICITY ON JANUARY 23

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has announced a power shutdown in two La Union towns and city from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday Jan.23.

The shutdown will affect consumers of the entire La Union Electric Company, Inc (LUECO) franchise area in the towns of Bauang and San Juan and this city.

Lilibeth Goydowen , NGCP’s North Luzon Corp. communications and public affairs officer, said the power shutdown in these area is intended for Annual Preventive Maintenance and testing of 50-MVA Power Transformer
and its associated equipment at the Bauang Substation.

This will also affect, she said, the line maintenance along Bauang-San Fernando 115kV line and Bauang San Fernando 69kV transmission lines.

Goydowen said normal operations will immediately resume after the work is completed and NGCP customers and the general public are advised to take the the necessary precautions for the power outage. VA / northboundasia.com
