SAN CARLOS CITY — Two cattle rustlers were arrested while herding two of the four cows they had stolen in the early dawn of Saturday from Barangay Tarece, San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
Upon receiving the report from the owners of the stolen cows, a police posse immediately followed the route taken by the suspects by tracing the footsteps of the animals and were able to recover at 2:30 a.m. of Dec. 26 two cows which were stolen earlier from the backyard of the caretaker, Larry De Vera, 53, of Barangay Tarece.
These were obviously left along the way by the suspects Jimmely Garcia, 35, and Ronny Sinlao, 22, both of Barangay Guelew, San Carlos City while continuing with their escape.
A follow-up operation conducted by the San Carlos City Police at 1:40 p.m. that day led to the recovery of the two other cows stolen from the backyard of Michael Deola, 23, also of Barangay Tarece, while these were being pulled by the suspects in Sitio Malimpec, Barangay Cauayan Kiling.
Upon seeing the lawmen on their tail, suspects Garcia and Sinlao left the animals and ran to an adjacent corn field where a chase ensued till they were arrested.
The two failed to present any document showing that they own the cows they were pulling.
