18 minors violated Boracay curfew

BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan — At least 18 minors had been rounded up for violating the curfew being imposed in this resort island, according to the Boracay Tourists Assistance Center of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Senior Inspector Jose Mark Anthony Gesulga said Friday that the minors were taken in custody by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

Since the local curfew had been implemented last week, the police and MSWDO had been monitoring the presence of minors at the beach front, internet shops, and recreation centers.

Parents of the minors, on first offense, are being required to undergo a seminar.

They are being obliged to pay a penalty of PHP500 for the second offense and PHP1,000 for the third offense.

Earlier, the Boracay Police received a complaint from a Korean tourist after he was reportedly harassed by minors. PNA-northboundasia.com
