DAGUPAN CITY — The National Meat and Inspection Service (NMIS) seized on Wednesday 150 kilos of chicken meat costing about Php20,000 from vendors of a private market here.
The seized chicken meat were believed dressed in unauthorized dressing plants and slaughterhouses which is in violation of the rules and regulations of a law promulgated by Congress, said NMIS officer-in-charge Eduardo Oblina.
Oblina said the move is aimed at protecting the health of consumers.
NMIS earlier also seized imported meat displayed on the table by vendors instead of being refrigerated from vendors at a public market.
The seized chicken meat were buried. PNA
