ZAMBOANGA CITY – Eleven people were injured on Tuesday when a truck carrying fishes bumped a passenger bus along the highway east of this city, the police reported.
Chief Insp. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) spokesperson, disclosed the incident took place at around 10:49 a.m. in Sitio Mala, Barangay Panubigan.
Galvez said that 10 of the victims were passengers of the Rural Transit Management, Inc. (RTMI) bus while the other one is the helper of the fish carrier truck.
Investigation showed that truck driver Nemesio Lambo Jr., 47, lost control of the steering wheel when one of the two front tires blew up, crashing it into the passenger bus while traversing on the same direction in a curved road.
The passenger bus, driven by Hendrew Povadora, 39, came from Pagadian City while the truck was from Cagayan de Oro City.
