11-hour power interruption slated Nov. 18 in eastern Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — The whole of eastern Pangasinan being served by the Pangasinan Electric Cooperative 1 (Panelco 1) as well as parts of Lingayen and Bugallon towns under the coverage of the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) will experience 11-hour power interruption from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on November 18.

Melba Batario, regional communications and public affairs officer of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, said the interruption is due to the annual preventive maintenance and testing (APMT) of 100MVA (mega volt ampere) transformer and associated equipment at NGCP’s Labrador substation.

This is apart from the maintenance activities along the Labrador-Bani 69KV transmission line segments.

Aside from the entire service areas of Panelco I, the other areas to be affected are Barangays Balangobong, Capandanan, Domalandan East, Domalandan West, Estanza, Malimpuec and Sabangan in Lingayen; and Polong East and West, Asinan, Pantal, Samat, Buelag, Guiset and Magtaking in Bigallon.

Batario said the franchise area of the Dagupan Electric Corporation (Decorp) will not be affected due to shifting of load.

It was learned Decorp is now connected to the newly-built NGCP substation in Balingueo, Sta. Barbara.

Normal operations will immediately resume in the affected areas after work completion.

NGCP advised its customers and the general public to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled power interruption. Leonardo Micua/PNA-northboundasia.com
