100 4Ps beneficiaries in Dagupan to get food carts from DSWD

DAGUPAN CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is giving food carts to at least 100 4Ps beneficiaries in Dagupan so that they can earn additional income for their respective families.

Harold Fernandez, 4Ps coordinator in Dagupan, said the first batch of 25 beneficiaries received their respective food carts on Monday from DSWD in the presence of Mayor Belen Fernandez and Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia.

He said 50 others will receive their respective carts on April 28 and the rest sometime soon.

The food carts were given under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program which is supported by the Dagupan City government.

Under this program, the 4Ps beneficiaries are being given the chance to earn additional income for their families by selling food items, which they had prepared and processed.

The first 25 beneficiaries were also provided with kitchen wares and food ingredients to start-off with their business.

Before this, they were given training on food processing.

De Venecia advised the food cart beneficiaries to keep their business going even if they struggle sometimes.

He said he and Mayor Fernandez will never stop finding ways to help them in their search for a better life. Leonardo Micua/PNA-northboundasia.com
