LUNA, La Union – A security guard wanted for murder was killed when he shoot it out with policemen who were serving his arrest warrant at around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday along the Bungro-Magsiping Road in Barangay Magsiping this town.
Senior Superintendent Ricardo Layug Jr, La Union police director, identified the fatality as Nestle Jampas Orbita, a security guard at the shipside-Poro in San Fernando City, La Union and native of Samar, Leyte.
Investigation showed that Orbita was shot by the policemen who are implementing his warrant of arrest issued by Judge Thelma Canlas Trinidad-De Aguirre of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 129, Caloocan City for the crime of murder.
It was learned that victim was already arrested but while on board the patrol car, he allegedly grabbed the service firearm of one of the arresting officers and jumped off from the vehicle and subsequently fired the gun prompting the policemen to shot him.
The victim was immediately brought to Balaoan District Hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival.
