TUGUEGARAO CITY — Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will be in the island province of Batanes on December 8 as part of her four-day visit in the Philippines.
The beauty queen, who arrived in the country early Wednesday, will be joined by other Miss Universe candidates in visiting various tourist attractions in the country.
Virgilio Macababbad-Maguigad, Department of Tourism (DOT)-Cagayan Valley regional director , said the beauties would be divided into three groups on Friday in visiting the “most scenic” spots.
Nel-Peters will be joined by other Miss Universe representatives from USA, India, Singapore and Thailand in her visit to Batanes.
Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaire is also set to visit Bohol with the beautiful ladies from Russia, Netherlands, South Korea, and Canada.
On the other hand, Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters will join other pageant participants from China, Italy, Great Britain, and Malaysia in visiting the island of Camiguin.
The Philippines visit is Nel-Peters’ first activity since winning the Miss Universe crown last November 26.
Demi-Leigh is only the second from South Africa to become Miss Universe after Margaret Gardiner. DOT-Region 2-northboundasia.com
