CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga — The “Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Displaced and Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD)” of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) benefits 3,545 individuals here through emergency work.
Francis Dale Biag of the City Public Employment Service Office said the program in partnership with the city local government unit provides 10-day community work this month to families affected by super typhoon “Lawin”.
Also included as TUPAD beneficiaries are surrenderees of the on-going “Oplan Double Barrel” of the Philippine National Police.
Those hired do clearing of roadsides, waterways and government establishment sites and are paid daily wage of P290. Fund for the wages of TUPAD workers comes from DOLE, transferred to the implementing partner-LGU.
As requirement, those hired need to secure term insurance with the Government Security and Insurance Service (GSIS).
