LAOAG CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of (SDO) of Ilocos Norte is eyeing International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification as it continues to improve its services into world-class quality.
The ISO standards require an organization to enhance customer satisfaction through effective and efficient application of its system and processes.
Of the more than 200 DepEd schools divisions in the country, Ilocos Norte aims to become the first division in Region 1 to be ISO-certified.
Similar with the Laoag City School Division, Schools Division Superintendent Vilma Eda said Thursday DepEd Ilocos Norte is also undergoing the tedious processes of ISO certification.
Jannibal Lojero of the Ilocos Norte Divison Office reported also Thursday that at least 10 modules will be tackled in trainings until 2018 for the ISO-preparedness journey.
The first batch was conducted on August 29 to Sept. 2, attended by 32 employees while another batch will be scheduled again on September 11-15.
“As of the moment, we are preparing ourselves to be ready of the processes because we would like to have the ISO-certification by March 2018,” Lojero said, citing the overall process is indeed “very challenging and tough work because we would like to give a good quality product and service to our customers.” PNA-northboundasia.com
