UN Security Council to hold emergency meeting on NoKor nuke test

UNITED NATIONS — The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting Monday in response to the latest nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), a press release said Sunday.

“Ambassador (Nikki) Haley and her counterparts from Japan, France, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Korea requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting to be held in the open chamber in response to North Korea’s latest nuclear test,” according to a press release of the United States Mission to the United Nations.

The Security Council session will be held Monday at 10 a.m. EDT.

The DPRK reportedly carried out its “most powerful nuclear test to date” on Sunday, claiming to have developed an advanced hydrogen bomb “that could sit atop an intercontinental ballistic missile.” Xinhua-northboundasia.com
