GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Police operatives and agents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Region 12 arrested a notorious drug pusher who previously surrendered to authorities under “Oplan Tokhang” and two other minors in an anti-drug operation on Thursday in Tampakan town in South Cotabato.
Lawyer Noel Morales, NBI-12 regional director, identified the suspects as Roy Lopez Deimoy, 35, and alleged minor cohorts who were named as alias Bong, 17, and0 Jun, 14, all residents of Barangay Maltana in Tampakan.
Armed with a search warrant, he said their agents and backup elements from the South Cotabato Police Provincial Public Safety Company stormed a house owned by Deimoy in Purok 6, Maltana at around 6:30 a.m.
The search resulted to the recovery of 14 bundles of dried marijuana leaves, a pack of marijuana seeds, several disposable lighters and a roll of aluminum foil, he said.
Morales said the team arrested Deimoy and the two other minors who were also in the house.
‘We received information from our civilian asset that the suspect was the minors in repacking marijuana,” he said.
The official said they sent the recovered evidences to the police crime laboratory for examination and valuation.
He said they turned over the arrested minors to the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region 12 for custody.
Morales said Deimoy, who is currently under the custody of the NBI-12, would be charged with violation of Section 11 or possession of dangerous drugs, under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. PNA-northboundasia.com
