Baguio university suspends afternoon classes due to earthquake

 

BAGUIO CITY, Aug. 11 –- The University of Baguio, one of the major learning institutions here, immediately suspended classes in all levels after a mild earthquake was recorded in this city and other parts of the Cordillera at 1:28 p.m. Friday.

The Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CRDRRMC) reported that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake with an epicenter recorded at Lian, Batangas was also felt here.

Office of the Civil Defense-Cordillera said that Intensity 3 was recorded in Baguio City. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) advised the public to be calm and alert because aftershocks are expected.
