CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU , Tuguegarao City, Aug. 9—The Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 2 recovered one low-powered and three high-powered firearms after serving search warrants on Tuesday in separate operations in Barangays Rapuli and Casambalangan in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
Cagayan Provincial Police Office (CPPO) provincial director PSSupt. Warren G. Tolito on Wednesday identified the suspects who were arrested as Jarl Parmienter of Brgy. Rapuli and Ofelia Alipio of Brgy. Casambalangan in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
Confiscated from the two were firearms and ammunition and one Toyota Hi-Ace Grandia van where two firearms were recovered.
The two suspects have been charged for violation of Republic Act 10591, the law on illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Tolito warned gun holders with expired license to renew as soon as possible to avoid legal impediments in the future as the police will strictly implement the law and are closely monitoring loose firearms as part of strengthening the Philippine National Police’s anti-criminality efforts.
