OCD warns Pangasinan fishermen not to venture into sea yet

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Fishermen in Pangasinan and Region 1, especially those riding on fishing boats and small sea crafts, have been warned not to venture into the sea as sea condition remains rough to very rough.

The warning issued by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Region 1 stated that strong to gale force winds are expected to affect the northern seaboard of northern Luzon.

Wave height in the area is 2.5 to 4.5 meters.

The gale warning is specifically directed to fishermen from Infanta and other coastal towns of western Pangasinan who are used to venturing into the West Philippine sea every time there is weather disturbance and oftentimes declared as missing.

Larger sea vessels were also alerted by OCD against big waves.<

Meanwhile, OCD said the southeast monsoon continues to affect the western section of Northern and Central Luzon.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over the regions of the Ilocos, Cordillera and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan. LVM/PNA-northboundasia.com
