CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — Five armed men who identified themselves as members of the New People’s Army (NPA) set on fire a warehouse of an agriculture school in Barangay Cadaducan, Nampicuan, this province Sunday.
Senior Supt. Antonio Yarra, provincial police director, on Monday said that based on the report, the men allegedly barged into the compound of Gallego Institute of Agriculture Industry at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Reynaldo Lapurga, 56, warehouse caretaker, told police that the suspects stood in front of their staffhouse and introduced themselves as NPAs before firing into the air at least seven times using unspecified type of guns.
Quickly, the men allegedly set on fire the motor glider, its spare parts, power generator equipment parts and a water pump until the fire gutted the warehouse, police said.
Yarra said follow up investigation is being conducted for possible identification of the suspects as well as their motives. Marilyn Espiritu-Galang/PNA-northboundasia.com
