SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced that a 9-hour power interruption will hit 8 towns of La Union and 2 towns of Pangasinan on Saturday.
The shutdown will affect consumers of the entire La Union Electric Cooperative, Inc (LUELCO) franchise area in Caba, Aringay, Tubao, Agoo, Pugo, Rosario, Sto. Tomas, Bauang (Urayong, Bagbag, Sta. Monica, Casilagan); and some parts of San Fabian and Sison in Pangasinan.
Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP’s North Luzon Corp. communications and public affairs officer, said that the power interruption starts at 6:00 in the morning 3:00 in the afternoon of the same day.
The power shutdown in these areas is to enable NGCP transmission line personnel, to make replacement of various rotten cross-arm and deteriorating insulars, and installation of additional grounding wire at various structures.
Normal operations of the electric power system will immediately resume after the work is completed, according to the NGCP. Erwin Beleo/NPN-northboundasia.com
