2 armed drug suspects killed in Bulacan police ops


CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, Bulacan –Two alleged armed drug dealers were killed in separate buy-bust operations by Bulacan police in San Rafael and Hagonoy towns, this province on Thursday.

Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., acting provincial director of Bulacan PNP, on Friday identified the slain suspects as Valentino Austria alias “Val/Bebe,” listed in San Rafael watch list, 35, resident of Barangay Talacsan, San Rafael and one alias “Ariel” of Calumpit, Bulacan, who was killed in the Hagonoy encounter.

Caramat said that according to Supt. Rizalino Andaya, chief of San Rafael PNP, the suspect sold a plastic sachet of suspected shabu in exchange of PHP500 to a police poseur buyer.

After the transaction when the police officer was about to arrest the suspect, the latter suddenly drew a firearm and shot the operatives which resulted into a gunfight and neutralization of the suspect, Caramat said.

Bulacan Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered at the crime scene one caliber 9 mm pistol, without trademark and serial number with one inserted magazine loaded with two ammunition; eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu with estimated weight of 1.2 grams, including the buy bust item; one inside holster, one wallet containing two ID cards; assorted documents; PHP690 including the buy bust money and one red Kawasaki Bajaj MC, without plate number.

In Hagonoy, the suspect alias “Ariel” also sensed that the poseur buyer was a police officer and fired at the operatives as he tried to escape.

The police personnel fired back and were able to neutralize the suspect while his unidentified cohort managed to escape on board a motorcycle.

Bulacan SOCO team recovered a Smith & Wesson Cal. 38 revolver with no serial number, loaded with three live ammunition and one fired cartridge case; six of cartridge case for Cal. 9mm; six small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of .70 grams.
