LAOAG CITY — Hundreds of young and old Ilocanos staged a fun run early Saturday to advocate for peace.
Led by personnel of the Ilocos Norte Police Public Safety Company (INPPSC), the annual activity is now running for three years.
With a registration fee of less than PHP1,000 for the 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K categories, the amount raised will be used to sustain the police feeding program for malnourished children here.
Organizers said the event’s theme for this year is “PNP and community creating a culture of peace and wellness”. The fun run, they added, has become a regular undertaking of the Philippine National Police to further promote camaraderie among participants.
Backed by public and private sponsors, the event commenced at the Camp Valentin S. Juan, Laoag City at 5 a.m. Certificates and special prizes were given to top finishers. LGA/PNA-northboundasia.com
