August civil service exams in Marawi suspended

MANILA — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has suspended the Career Service Examination Pen and Paper Test (CSC-PPT) in Marawi City scheduled on August 6.

The CSC decided to suspend the exam “in the light of the current state of hostility in Marawi City”, according to Examination Advisory No. 17, series of 2017, issued last July 3 and signed by Fernando Porio, Director IV of the Examination, Recruitment and Placement Office.

The suspension covers both professional and sub-professional examinations for eligibility for those who want to join government service.

The commission will later announce the new date of the exam.

Tens of thousands of families had been forced to flee Marawi as government forces continue to clear the city of the remaining elements of the terrorist Maute Group.

The government meanwhile has set up an inter-agency task force that would oversee the recovery, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of Marawi City. MLMG/PNA-northboundasia.com
