In Photos: La Union Bishop Interred At San Fernando Cathedral

 

SAN FERNANDO, La Union – Bishop Rodolfo Beltran of the Diocese of San Fernando, La Union was interred at the St. William Cathedral, Tuesday following a 9-day wake or public viewing of his body at the Diocesan Seminary of the Heart of Jesus in San Vicente, here and at said Cathedral.

Beltran, 68-years old, died of pancreatic cancer at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital on June 17.

The diocese bishop, a native of Gattaran, Cagayan, was buried beside the tomb of past San Fernando, La Union Bishop Artemio Rillera.

Archbishop Sergio Utleg of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, Cagayan administered the burial of Beltran, who was bishop of Bontoc-Lagawe for six years before he was appointed to San Fernando in 2012 as its fifth bishop here.

It was learned that on the day Beltran died, military Bishop Leopoldo Tumulak, 72, also succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the Cardinal Santos Hospital in Manila.
