SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — Numerous confiscations and arrests were made on Friday during an operation to discourage the sale of bottled gasoline along the roads in this city.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) here.
DPOS head Edwin Roxas said the operations stemmed from the reports received by Mayor Joseph Tan from concerned citizens about the rampant sale of fuels in bottles.
At least nine vendors were caught on Patul – Villa Gonzaga road in the city and confiscated the gasoline inside soft drink bottles.
Roxas said the peddling of bottled gasoline was prohibited by law and could cause fires in case it was not handled properly.
He warned individuals selling gasoline in bottles would be facing charges once they repeat the prohibited act. MGEdale/PNA-northboundasia.com
