BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-CAR) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) will hold a job and livelihood fair on June 12, as part of the Independence day celebration here.
DOLE-CAR Regional Director Exequiel Ronie Guzman in a statement said there are some 2,316 jobs available to CAR residents.
He also said the government “will be facilitating gainful employment opportunities to the unemployed, new graduates and new entrants to the labor force on June 12.”
There will be two venues, at SM Baguio Mall and Porta Vaga Mall, as part of the celebration of the 2017 Independence Day with the theme “Kalayaan 2017: Pagbabagong Sama-Samang Balikatin.”
The job and livelihood fair in both venues will start at 9 a.m.
Guzman said there are 24 participating private companies, the government owned and controlled corporation subsidiary – John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) and two government agencies – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP)- Cordillera.
Guzman advised job seekers and new graduates to increase their chances of being hired-on-the-spot by preparing application requirements which include resume or curriculum vitae (bring extra copies for multiple job applications); 2 x 2 ID pictures; certificate of employment for those formerly employed; diploma and/or transcript of records; and authenticated birth certificate.
The 2017 Kalayaan job fair at the PortaVaga Mall will include the “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK)” initiative of the DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cordillera Administrative Region.
The business fair aims to bring employment opportunities and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. There will be business and entrepreneurial coaching and information booth as an option for those who wish to go into business as a livelihood option.
The products of the 14 DOLE and DTI assisted Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will also be for sale at the Porta Vaga Mall. Liza Agoot/ PNA-northboundasia.com
