CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela — A city legislator here is requesting for police deployment in Barangay Villa Luna in this city to ensure the safety of the residents including nearby villages.
Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Member Edgar De Luna made his request during the committee hearing held at the city hall late Wednesday.
Villa Luna is located at the eastern part of the city where a number of barangays are located.
Deployment of any police personnel in “Pulisya Ti Umili (PTU)” as ordered by Police Regional Office (PRO)-2 has yet to be made as they are prone target of rebels after two police stations in the region were attacked by rebels recently, said city police chief, Supt. Narciso Paragas.
Once the threat of rebel attack on police station is gone, he will wait the order of the PRO-2 if it is time to deploy personnel in PTU, he said.
Paragas said that aside from deploying police to guard the eastern barangays of the city, he would also be deploying police investigators who would act immediately on the concerns to be brought up by victims of crimes. MGEdale/PNA-northboundasia.com
