2 drug suspects killed after shootout with Laguna cops

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City — Two suspected drug pushers were killed after they traded shots with authorities during separate drug buy-bust operations in Laguna before dawn Tuesday..

Superintendent Joel Estaris, Sta. Rosa City chief of police, reported that a suspected drug pusher, identified only as alias “Onad,” was killed when he engaged operatives in a gunfight in Rosaflor Subdivision, Barangay Tagapo in Santa Rosa City.

Estaris said that Onad drew his firearm and fired shots after sensing that he was dealing illegal drugs with an undercover agent.

Onad was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Police recovered a caliber .45 pistol, a motorcycle and a sachet of shabu from the slain suspect.

Meanwhile in Calamba City, a suspected drug pusher, Johnlee Alcantara, was also killed after a buy-bust operation in Barangay Real also at dawn Tuesday.

Superintendent Fernando Ortega, Calamba City chief of police, said Alcantara was included in their drug watch list.

Ortega said the suspect drew a Super caliber 38 pistol, but the operatives were quick to neutralize him.
