Cebu cop relieved after live-in partner caught in illegal gambling

CEBU CITY — The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) has relieved the desk officer of Borbon Police Station in northern Cebu after his live-in partner was caught for her alleged involvement in illegal gambling.

CPPO Police Community Relations Chief Jaime Quiocho said the relief of Police Officer 1 Dominador Banzon was effective on Tuesday.

Quiocho said Banzon’s relief stemmed from the arrest of Jenny Suson, his live-in partner, on Saturday night.

Quiocho said Suson was arrested by operatives of the CPPO Provincial Intelligence Branch for her alleged involvement in illegal numbers game, masiao.

Police seized from Suson masiao tally sheets with different number combinations, stubs and bet money.

Banzon was temporarily transferred to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit in Cebu City while under investigation.

Quiocho said Banzon was the first to be relieved in relation to the drive against illegal gambling. EB/PNA-northboundasia.com
