Central Visayas rules PRISAA National Games with 124 golds

IBA, Zambales — Region 7 (Central Visayas) collected 124 gold medals in the seniors division at the close of the 2017 Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games at the Zambales Sports Complex here.

The athletes from Central Visayas also got 64 silvers and 59 bronzes for a total of 247 medals during the six-day tournament supported by the Commission on Higher Education and the Philippine Sports Commission.

Region 6 (Western Visayas) had the second highest number of medals at 171 (53 golds, 53 silvers and 65 bronzes), followed by the Negros Island Region (NIR) with 52 medals (38-2-12) and Region 4-A (Calabarzon) with 127 medals (36-29-62).

Region 11 (Davao) was fifth with 139 medals (26-59-54), Region 9 (Zamboanga) was sixth with 53 medals (23-17-13) and Region 12 (Soccsksargen) placed seventh with 78 medals (18-23-37).

Region 6 (Western Visayas) topped the juniors division with 158 medals (92-43-23).

Region 3 (Central Luzon) was second with 113 medals (33-53-27), while NIR was third with 46 medals (26-16-4).

Region 9 ranked fourth with 27 medals (21-1-5), followed by Region 11 with 81 medals (17-26-38), Region 7 with 43 medals (16-20-7) and Region 4-A (Calabarzon) with 21 medals (16-1-4).
