DAGUPAN CITY — Cluster 1 made up of six eastern villages of Dagupan City bagged the grand prize of Php 150,000 in the Gilon-gilon ed Baley Street Dancing competition that ended late Friday night at the city plaza here as part of the 2017 Bangus Festival.
The champion cluster made up of Barangays Mangin, Salisay, Bolosan, Tebeng, Mamalingling and Tambac will represent Dagupan City in the Festival’s of the North (FON) slated on April 28 to compete with nine other festival champions north of Manila.
Cluster 1 was also adjudged as Best in Props and Best in Costume to win the nod of the board of judges as overall street dancing champion of Dagupan.
First runner up was Cluster 5 composed of Malued, Lasip Grande, Pogo Grande, Pogo Chico, Lasip Chico and Lucao and won the second highest prize of Php 100,000. CLuster 5 was adjudged Best in Showdown and Best in Street Dancing.
First second runner-up prize of Php 80,000 went to Cluster 4 composed of Caranglaan, Bacayao Sir, Bacayao Norte, Mayombo and Herrero-Perez.
Consolation prizes of Php 30,000 each went to Cluster 2 composed of Bonuan Boquig, Bonuan Gueset and Bonuan Binloc; Cluster 3 made up of Calamay, Carael, Salapingao, Lomboy and Pugaro; and Cluster 6 imposed of Tapuac, Poblacion Oeste, Barangay 1, Barangay 2&3 and Barngay 4.
Mayor Belen Fernandez and Fourth District Congressman Christopher de Venecia along with over 20,000 Dagupenos watched the street-dancing competition from beginning to end.
Up for grab in the much-awaited Festivals of the North (FON)
