DAGUPAN CITY — A total of 163 drug personalities were arrested in 154 anti-drug operations conducted by the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) since the start of Project Double Barrel Reloaded (DBR) on March 6 this year, to date.
A report of P/Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, chief of the police community relations office of the PPPO, stated that this was accomplished with the help of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in only 41 days of continuous operations from March 6 to April 20 in 48 towns and cities of Pangasinan.
Of the 154 drug operations conducted, 41 were done through search warrants, 91 through drug buy-bust operations, eight through police responses, four through “Oplan Sita”, and two through the serving of warrants of arrest and two in checkpoint operations.
In these operations, one policeman died while 440 sachets of alleged methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” and two sachets of marijuana were seized.
No death under investigation (DUI) was reported.
For the past 41 days, the police conducted 1,875 house visitations of surrendered drug personalities as well as visited 1,108 persons in the drug watchlist.
The Pangasinan police reported 97 drug surrenderers from March 6 to April 20. Those who surrendered include 23 ex-drug surrenderers
Meanwhile, the police reported that they had already cleared seven of the 48 towns and cities of illegal drugs. However, five of these are still undergoing validation processes from PDEA.
The five are Natividad, San Nicolas, Bolinao, Agno and Alaminos City.
Florentino expressed confidence all the five will be eventually cleared by PDEA.
The town of Sto. Tomas was already drug cleared even before the start of the Duterte administration while Laoac was cleared at a time when the police have not yet resumed their operations against illegal drugs. PNA-northboundasia.com
