DAGUPAN CITY — Bangus Festival 2017 will have its grand opening on April 16 in a fun-filled ceremony at Tondaligan Blue Beach.
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez will declare the formal opening of the 2017 Bangus Festival to start off with the holding of the “Bangus Flash Parade”, said Epee R. Rafanan, the festival’s executive chairman.
The parade will take place early in the morning along the Tondaligan road starting from the highway up to the program site.
“The concept of the Bangus Flash Parade is to gather a group of people coming from different directions who will march together, meet along the way going towards one direction under the baton of the University of Luzon Drum and Bugle Corps,” said Rafanan.
Following the formal declaration of the opening of 2017 Bangus Festival, Mayor Fernandez and Rafanan will lead the release of balloons to symbolize how the city has soared high to greater heights in consonance with Fernandez’s concept of Balon Dagupan.
The Tondaligan Blue Beach is now a living proof how Dagupan has soared to greater heights after the mayor finally liberated the seashore from eyesores that is now giving the tourists and the residents a better way to enjoy the beach.
“This is why we saw it fit to conduct the grand opening of the Bangus Festival here this year to showcase the recent development in the area vis-a-vis the city’s tourism promotion program,” said Rafanan.
The grand opening will be a whole-day affair, which will feature other activities like “Zumbangus”, “Galaw na Ogogaw”, skim boarding, sand sculpture, and “Sayawan ed Tondaligan”.
The “Zumbangus” and the “Sayawan ed Tondaligan” is for everyone to join and enjoy, said Rafanan.
Meanwhile “Galaw na Ogogaw” will conduct games like “guyuran ed buer” (tug of war), “palo sebo”, sack race, “tumbang preso” and “luksong tinik”, among others.
Skim boarding will be ushered in with the holding of a clinic and demonstration, to be followed by a competition.
“We are inviting everyone to join our grand opening ceremony at Tondaligan and together let’s enjoy the activities in store for everyone,” said Rafanan. PNA-northboundasia.com
