BAGUIO CITY – Religious activities in Baguio City usher other activities in the continuance of the “2017 Summer Vacation” (SUMVAC) until mid-May.
Earlier, Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan invited the residents and tourists to be a part of the various SUMVAC activities.
The March calendar consists of religious, graduation rites and a potpourri of events which started on March 1.
The Stations of the Cross at the Our Lady of Atonement Church (Baguio Cathedral) will be prayed until March 31 at 4:00 p.m.
On March 28, the “Times of Refreshing” Evangelistic Crusade will be held at the Baguio Convention Center (BCC).
On March 26, the “Run for Fun, Donate for the Cause” will fire off at the Baguio City Athletic Bowl at 4:00 a.m. and the Color and Calligraphy Fair is slated at the Main Mall Atrium, SM City Baguio and the Pet-Palooza on March 26 at the Event Center, SM City Baguio.
Religious, cultural, historical, environmental, sports and medical activities are also lined up for April and May by the SUMVAC committee spearheaded by the mayor and action officers, Baguio City administrator Carlos Canilao and Councilor Elmer Datuin.
Domogan tasked concerned offices to prepare contingency measures to ensure peace and order in the city for the duration of the summer as tourists flock to the city for the long vacation.
He mobilized the peace and order committee which handles traffic and criminality; utilities to ensure enough water supply and smooth solid waste collection; and the tourism sector to ensure readiness to cater to the accommodation and comfort needs of the vacationers.
