Pangasinan cops arrest buyer of stolen goats, motorcycles

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) scored a successful operation against a top woman fencer when they served a search warrant at the premises of a suspected financier of stolen goats and motorcycles at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Barangay Poblacion East in Asingan town.

Senior Supt. Ronald Oliver Lee, Pangasinan police director, identified the suspect as Cristina Ballicud, 37. The woman was also tagged as a drug personality in the watchlist of the Asingan police.

Ballicud’s premises was the subject of a Search Warrant No. A-10-17 for Violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition).

Confiscated by lawmen were one improvised Cal. 22 revolver without serial number (Paltik); five pieces of live ammunition for Cal. 22; and five heat-sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

Also found in the premises were 296 pieces of bundled Php100 bills; 86 pieces of bundled Php200 bills, 360 pieces of bundled Php 500 bills, 195 pieces of bundled Php 1,000 bills, 150 pieces of bundled Php50 bills; 128 pieces of bundled Php 20 bills; three one-dollar bills; two old Php2 bills; one Singaporean dollar; one old Php5 bill, five 10-peso coins wrapped; three Php5 coins wrapped, four one peso coins wrapped; two 35 centavos wrapped, all totaling Php431,929.50.

During the search, the operating team also discovered seven units of motorcycle and three units of tricycle within the premises and all of these were found to have no pertinent documents.

Several live goats were likewise seen at the premises.

The motorcycles and tricycles were brought to the Asingan Police Station for proper verification by the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Urdaneta City.

Cases for violation of Republic Act 10591, Sec. 11 of Art II of RA 9165 and RA 6539 are now being prepared against the suspect.

Senior Supt. Lee said the arrest of Ballicud and confiscation of pieces of evidence from her are proofs that the Pangasinan PNP will always uphold the rule of law against all criminal offenders in the province. PNA-northboundasia.com
