Man’s cadaver found; security guard killed in La Union

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – The body of an unidentified person, believed to have been summarily executed, was recovered at the foot of a 10-meter ravine along Rosario-Pugo road in Barangay Alipang, Rosario town last March 3.

Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado, Jr., La Union police information officer, said that the victim was approximately 5’7″ in height, medium
built, 32-40 years old, had a military hair cut, and was wearing a black jacket, black T-shirt, gray Jag maong pants and red-violet shoes.

Ordinado, Jr. claimed that the killing of the victim was not related to the illegal drugs trade, adding that the police were still investigating to determine the identity of the cadaver.

Meanwhile, a 54-year-old security guard, identified as Joaquin M. Peralta, was killed by unidentified riding- in- tandem assailants near
his working place in Villa Buenavista resort in Barangay Ili Norte, San Juan town. He sustained gun-shot wounds on his body and was rushed to the Bacnotan District Hospital, where he was declared dead-on-arrival by attending physicians.

The San Juan police station said they are still investigating the incident and that they have launched a manhunt for the killers.

It was learned that Peralta, a resident of Balaoan town, was living in a rented house  in Barangay Mameltac in San Fernando City to be near
his working place in said resort.
