Baguio City retains overall championship belt in CARAA

BAGUIO CITY -– Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan officially announced the winners in the Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) meet which Baguio City dominated in both Elementary and Secondary Divisions and retained its overall championship title.

Domogan said the city’s hosting of the sports event for the third year in a row went well considering that the problems encountered last year have been checked.

There was just one minor problem where the contingent from the Province of Kalinga complained about the meat delivered.

Domogan said that upon investigation, it was learned that the meat supplied to the athletes were delivered in the morning but the provincial officials decided to cook the supply for dinner and since cooling systems or refrigerators were not supplied, the meat accumulated a certain smell.

The supply of meat for the contingent was replaced with a live pig so the contingent may cook it whatever way they please.

Domogan said “everybody is happy” on how the peace and order was handled including the facilities used in all the games played in the different schools in the city.

Domogan added that the lowest temperature in the city during the CARAA meet was recorded at 11.6ºC which is not as cold as expected and in some days rose to as high as 13ºC.
