MANILA — Some 630 passengers have been stranded in ports nationwide due to the effects of Tropical Storm Marce, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has reported.
In an advisory posted on its Twitter account, the PCG said travel for 166 roll-on roll-off (RoRo) ships, 17 sea vessels and nine motor bancas have been suspended.
The state weather bureau, PAGASA, said in its weather bulletin Saturday, that ‘Marce’ has slightly intensified as it continued to traverse the West Philippine Sea. The center of ‘Marce’ was estimated at 335 km. west of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, with maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 95 kph.
