MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has finalized the security plan for the burial of the remains of the late former President Ferdinand E. Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) in Taguig City.
Southern Police District (SPD) Senior Supt. Tomas Apolinario on Tuesday said that they had long been preparing for the interment of the former president at the LNMB.
Apolinario added that they had finalized the comprehensive security plan for the interment of Marcos.
He said that as of now, they would just conduct a series of meetings to ensure no security problems inside and outside the LNMB.
Apolinario said that the security plan included the rerouting of vehicles, the establishment of checkpoints, as well as the training on human rights and police operational procedures (POP) for the members of the Civil Disturbance and Management (CDM) for the expected protest actions opposing the Marcos burial.
At the same time, the SPD chief urged the protesters to conduct their respective protest actions peacefully and traffic-free so that the motorists would not be inconvenienced. PNA-northboundasia.com
