A report from Mayor Belen Fernandez stated that the one-hour fire rendered homeless at least five houses.

The burnt houses, she said, were owned by Rodel Manaois, Michelle Calimlim, Joel Layage and Federico de la Rosa.

Mayor Fernandez thanked various fire fighting units for quickly responding to the blaze, preventing it from spreading to next adjacent houses .

Those that responded were the Panda Chinese Firefighting Brigade which sent two fire trucks, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), two fire trucks, City Supermarket Inc., one fire truck; Calasiao, BFP, one fire truck; and Binmaley BFP, one fire truck.

The City government also sent one fire truck from the City Risk Reduction and Management Council’s Belen 911, complemented by one fire truck tanker.

The cause of the blaze is still being investigated by BFP Dagupan.

Fernandez vowed to buy one more fire truck for the city’s CDRRMC using a part of the savings to be realized in this current year’s budget of the city government at the end of 2016. PNA-northboundasia.com
