CAAP suspends all Cessna C172 trainer aircraft of Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc.

MANILA — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has suspended the operation of all the Cessna C172 aircraft of Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc.

The suspension was due to the recent accident involving a C172 trainer aircraft of Leading Edge.

On October 21, the Cessna C172 trainer aircraft with registry number RP-C7838 crashed near Vitalis Resort, along the coastline of Santiago, Ilocos Sur.

The aircraft was conducting a touch and go procedure at the Vigan Airport and was supposed to be back to its homebase in San Fernando Airport in La Union when the accident happened.

Search and rescue team have recovered the bodies of Capt. John Kaizan Estabillo and Paola Vianca Robles on October 22.

CAAP said the lifting of the hold order will depend on the outcome of the investigation to be conducted by inspectors of the Training Organization Certification and Inspection Division. Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA-northboundasia.com
