BCDA, Japanese firms ink deal during President Duterte’s Tokyo visit

MANILA — State-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has forged partnership with two Japanese companies during the state visit of President Rodrigo R. Duterte in Japan.

BCDA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hitachi Asia Ltd. and The Power Grid Solution Ltd. in Tokyo on Wednesday for a PHP10-million feasibility study for the energy system in Clark Green City.

The feasibility study will involve energy management system, energy storage system, a district cooling system, and energy network system through a private utility company.

“The partnerships with the Japanese companies underscore the continuing ties between the Philippines and Japan,” BCDA said.

“BCDA also sees the partnerships as further bolstering the current administration’s vision to sustain the country’s growth through more infrastructure and economic projects,” it added.
