2 brothers, believed guns-for-hire, arrested in Dagupan

DAGUPAN CITY — Two brothers, who are believed members of a gun-for-hire gang, were arrested by joint police elements led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at around 1:30 p.m. Monday at the back of the Dagupan Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Bonuan Binloc here.

The operation was conducted by the lead agency, CIDG, headed by Chief Insp. Modesto Carrera, along with elements of the Dagupan Police Station headed by Chief Insp. Bernabe Ramos, Bugallon police station and the Police Highway Patrol Team.

Lawmen served warrants of arrest against Joel Villacorta, alias Paras, for the crime of two counts of murder and frustrated murder; and his brother Zaldy Villacorta Jr., alias Sadam, for the crime of murder.

Joel Villacorta was tagged as responsible in the shooting to death of former Barangay Captain Clyde Benabese of Lingayen early this year.

Meanwhile, the police confiscated from the possession, control and custody of Zaldy Villacorta Jr. one homemade cal 9 mm. pistol, without serial number, one magazine and two live ammunition for cal 9 mm pistol. He is listed as No. 1 most wanted person in Calasiao, a town south of Dagupan City.

The police said both brothers are also involved in illegal drugs. PNA-northboundasia.com
