SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — This city’s election office is preparing for the start of voters registration which the Comelec has set.
Comelec has set the voters registration for the 2017 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections due to its postponement to Oct. 23, 2017 by Congress.
Atty. Jenny May Vallejo, city election officer of Santiago City, said the Comelec has set to begin voters registration for barangay and SK election on Oct. 3, 2016 until April 29, 2017.
Vallejo has called on all incoming SK voters and unregistered voters in the city to visit her office from Monday to Friday and register.
She said there are enough days for registration until April 29 and they must now start to visit her office to avoid the last hour rush.
She said her office expects additional 5,000 more voters both SK and barangay voters in the city until the set deadline.
The Comelec – Santiago plans to conduct satellite registration in the coming weeks to ensure the accommodation of voter registrants and use tri-media and social media in the information dissemination in relation to voters registration.
Voter registrants are advised to bring with them a birth certificate and valid identification cards when going to the Comelec. PNA/northboundasia.com
