CAMP MALVAR, Batangas — Police seized approximately 50 grams of shabu worth PHP250,000 from two suspects in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Tanauan City Monday.
Police Senior Superintendent Leopoldo Cabanag, acting provincial director, said the police operatives team led by Police Chief Inspector John Rellian of the Tanauan City’s police force arrested the suspects identified as Angel Ramos Gonzales, 60, from Village 4, Tanauan City and Justin Garuela, 31, from Santiago Village, Santo Tomas also in this province.
The suspects were arrested in a nipa hut owned by Gonzales who attempted to flee upon noticing the presence of police operatives that resulted in a chase.
Also recovered pieces of evidence were an improvised totter; four transparent plastic sachets containing ‘shabu’ residues, seven cellular phones; two boxes containing unused strip of aluminum foils; two digital portable weighing scales; cash money in different denominations that were placed on top of a table.
The recovered pieces of evidences and the suspects were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba City, Laguna for examination and drug test.
The suspects are now detained at Tanauan City’s police lock-up cell to face the charges for violation of Section 13, 14 and 6 Article II of RA 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Jojo Magsombol/PNA/northboundasia.com
