MANILA — A total of 91 policemen and six non-uniformed personnel (NUP) have tested positive for illegal drugs during random tests conducted by the police, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Sr. Supt. Dionardo Carlos said Tuesday.
The 97 police personnel and NUP who failed the drug test will undergo a confirmatory drug test to make sure that they are indeed using illegal drugs.
Those who would test positive in the confirmatory test will be dismissed.
From July 1 to Sept. 16, a total of 135,393 personnel have undergone the random drug test conducted by the PNP.
