Classes suspended in Cagayan province Wednesday due to typhoon ‘Ferdie’

TUGUEGARAO CITY –Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba on Wednesday announced the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools in the whole province due to typhoon “Ferdie.”

Mamba said the suspension of classes is a precaution against the expected onslaught of the typhoon.

As of this morning, typhoon “Ferdie” made a landfall in Batanes province.

PAGASA said storm signal no. 4 is up in the Batanes Group of Islands, signal no. 3 in Babuyan Group of Islands, signal no. 2 in Ilocos Norte, Apayao and Northern Cagayan and signal no. 1 in the rest of Cagayan, Northern Isabela, Kalinga, Abra and Northern Ilocos Sur.

The Provincial Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC) rescue team here has prepositioned relief assistance teams on standby at the disaster action center.
