TUGUEGARAO CITY — The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) deployed Tuesday rescue teams from the police, military and the disaster risk reduction management office in the province to identified flood prone areas and pre-positioned relied goods in coastal towns.
Provincial information Rogelio Sending, on Wednesday said as a precautionary measure and to avoid casualties in times of calamities, the risk reduction council has deployed rescue teams in several areas in Cagayan that are mostly flooded due to fast rise in the river’s water level.
The PDRRMC has deployed the teams in Penablanca, Enrile, Iguig, Alcala, Tuguegarao City, Solana, Gattaran, Amulong Lal-lo, Aparri, and in northern towns near the Cagayan River.
Relief goods for coastal towns residents to be affected by the typhoon were pre-positioned since Tuesday.
The PDRRMC will remain on alert to respond to any emergencies to avoid casualties brought by the typhoon’s rains, Sending added. PNA/northboundasia.com
