LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Two men, one of them a top drug personality, were arrested by the police in separate towns of Pangasinan as part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the province, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO).
Arrested by the police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in a buy-bust operation on or about 3:45 p.m. in Brgy. Poblacion, Binmaley, Pangasinan particularly infront of the public market, was one Manuel Rosario, alias “Maning”, 59, of Brgy. Lomboy, Binmaley.
The suspect was collared while he was having illegal transaction with a poseur-buyer of a suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu.”
Confiscated from Rosario’s possession, control and custody were two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected “shabu” one PHP500 bill used as buy-bust money, one small yellow paper and one unit of Bonus X SYM colored red motorcycle with no plate number.
The suspect was brought to the Don Mariano Sr. Memorial Hospital in Lingayen for medical/physical examination and subsequently lodged in jail while the pieces of evidence were brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory for laboratory examination.
A case for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 is being readied for filing in court. Case is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, the number 11 drug personality of Manaoag town was arrested on September 4 at about 11:30 p.m. while the police were conducting checkpoint operation along Rizal St., Poblacion, Manaoag, Pangasinan.
This happened when the suspect, Robert Solomon, 38, on board his motorized tricycle, counterflowed the traffic along the road prompting the police to stop him.
When Solomon was asked to present his driver’s license and vehicle registration, he failed to show any.
In plain view, lawmen saw a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver without a serial number loaded with five live ammunition tucked on his waist.
When frisked, he was found in custody of one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
At the Manaoag Community Hospital, Solomon was found positive of alcoholic breath, then subsequently placed under the custody of Manaoag Police.
Upon verification, Solomon was found listed as no. 11 drug personality in the municipal level of Manaoag.
A case for violation of Section 11 RA 9165 and RA 10591 are being prepared against the suspect. PNA/northboundasia.com
