CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — A suspected peddler of illegal drugs was killed in an armed encounter with policemen after the former fired guns during a buy-bust operation in Aliaga, Nueva Ecija Thursday night.
This as four other people were killed Friday by suspected anti-illegal drug vigilantes in different parts of Nueva Ecija.
Alleged drug peddler Arnold Macapagal, resident of Cabanatuan City, was killed in an alleged encounter when the suspect supposedly realized that he was dealing with policemen in a buy-bust operation at about 11 p.m.in Barangay Umangan, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija
Police said the victim was supplying shabu in the village and neighboring places.
Police seized from the victim five plastic sachet of shabu with an estimated street value of Php 5,000, a homemade cal. 38 revolver.
Investigators also recovered from the area spent shells from the handgun, police said.
Meanwhile, three suspected drug pushers, including a 48-year-old woman, were found dead and another one was killed in a shooting incident in different places of the province Friday.
The victims were identified as Imelda Cando, a resident of Aqua Tierra Subdivision in Barangay Mayapyap Norte and her companion Noel Esquivel; Venerando Esteban, 49, of Barangay Aduas Sur, both of this city and Edgar Leonardo, 43, of Barangay Malate, Palayan City.
PO1 Ted Elsinore Go, investigator, said that Cando and Esquivel were found lying dead at the shoulder of Circumferential Road, Barangay MS Garcia here at about 3:30 a.m.
Both victims’ heads were “wrapped with clothes while their hands and feet were hogtied with GI wire and piece of cloth,” Go said.
Investigators found two pieces of plastic sachet with suspected shabu from their bodies, police said.
At around 6:20 a.m., Esteban, unemployed married man, was found dead in Q. Valino St. Barangay Aduas Sur, also wrapped with a piece of cloth, hogtied and with two plastics sachet of shabu
All victims sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies, investigation showed.
At about 9: 15 a.m., Leonardo, single, was on board a single motorcycle without plate number when shot from his back by two hooded men on board another motorcycle . PNA/northboundasia.com
